Serving the poor.. praying for the poor... The bible is clear on this.. it's sooo challenging.
Jer. 22:3. Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor. Also do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow; and do not shed innocent blood in this place.
Luke 12:33. "Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves purses which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near, nor moth destroys."
Luke 3:11. And [John the Baptist] would answer and say to them, "Let the man with two tunics share with him who has none, and let him who has food do likewise."
Mt. 5:42. Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.
God has been taking me to a new place with Him these days. And He is opening my eyes to a lot going on in the world. And also the need for us to do something.. practically live a life full of love for our neighbor. Live unselfishly.. Not pursue our own selfish living....We have our time on the earth..and no one knows how long we get to be here.
I know that God has something in store for me when I move to the US.. but more importantly He has something to say RIGHT NOW.. He is stirring me up, my heart.. towards those who don't know Him, and does not have freedom.
It's kind of a burden on my heart right now.. I see so much unrightousness all over the world.. and it makes me sick to my stomach. I know that God is stirring me in this for a reason, and I am excited to see what He has for me..
Right now I know my prayers and stirring of heart is what and where I need to be!
My prayer for today is this!
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
